The major excitement of this trip is the experience of travelling into the centre of the Himalayas. The variation offered in cultural diversity and topography turns more exciting and interesting, and the exploration of the culture of various ethnic groups is a basis to understand the lifestyle in the area. The lower ridges of the central Himalayas are inhabited by Tamangs and Sherpas, whereas the occupants of the higher region are mostly by Tibetan descent. Also on offer is the view of the sacred Gosaikunda Lake, one of the holy pilgrim sites of the Hindus and the fascinating views of the Langtang Range, Ganesh Himal, Dorje Lakpa, Naya Kanga and Lang Shisha.

Detail Itinerary

Day 01: Drive from Kathmandu to Dhunche
  • This magnificent trip begins with a drive to Dhunche from Kathmandu. The 132 km drive takes about 6-7 hours and passes through dense forests, deep gorges and beautiful landscapes.
  • Day 02: Trek from Dhunche to Syabru
  • The second day marks the beginning of the trek. After breakfast, the trek begins from Dhunche. The street walk for about an hour leads us to Barkhu. Barkhu marks the beginning of the uphill climb, passing through a dense forest to finally reach Syabru. Offering magnificent views of the Ganesh Himal, Manaslu and Mt. Kerung, the trip roughly takes about four hours.
  • Day 03: Trek from Syabru to Sing Gompa.
  • The day begins shortly after breakfast, followed by steep climb for over two hours through dense forests. The trail then flattens and continues straight to reach Sing Gompa after an hour and a half.
  • Day 04: Reserve day for rest and acclimatization
  • Day 05: Trek from Sing Gompa to Gosainkunda.
  • The day begins with a steep trek to Lauri Binayak for three hours. The trail then becomes narrow and the landscape changes to deserted and rocky and the weather also changes to misty. It takes almost three hours to reach Gosainkunda, one of the most popular pilgrimages of the Hindus in Nepal, from Lauri Binayak.
  • Day 06: Trek from Gosainkunda to Ghopte.
  • Today, the trail goes through a steep path for almost two and a half hours to finally cross a pass at 4500 m after the rocky trail. The trail then descends after the pass and after nearly three hours, reaches Ghopte, the destination for the day.
  • Day 07: Trek from Ghopte to Kutumsang.
  • Continuing through the coniferous forest, the team reaches Thadepati after about two hours. The trail then gradually descends through the forest for about five more hours to reach Kutumsang.
  • Day 08: Trek from Kutumsang to Pati Bhanjyang.
  • From Kutumsang, the trail passes through dense coniferous forests and numerous Tamang villages to reach Tipling, after nearly three hours of trekking. The trail then continues over a rolling terrain with lots of ascent, descent and straight travel through the terraced fields to reach Pati Bhanjyang after two hours.
  • Day 09: Trek from Pati Bhanjyang to Sundarijal, and drive to Kathmandu
  • The last day of the trip ascends steeply for about an hour to reach Chisapani. The trip then continues for two more hours of steep ascent through villages, and finally descends for an hour to reach Sundarijal. Buses operate at regular intervals from Sundarijal to Kathmandu, and you will ride for about an hour and a half to reach the heart of the Kathmandu City.
