This trek is one of a famous and easiest trek in Annapurna Area. The trek has been named the "Royal Trek" as Britain's Prince Charles walked it in the 1980s. It's an excellent trek to do as it doesn't entail any particular long walking days but plenty to see. Trek commences after a short drive of about 20 min. and the route gradually climbs up through the villages and forest of fir, magnolia and Rhododendron. This trek offers a panoramic view of Pokhara valley and the beautiful Fishtail Summit (Machhapuchre) as well as Annapurna Range to the north and magnificent lakes surrounded by mountains in the Southeast, Lamjung Himal and Manaslu and Himchuli in the east.
Day 01: Pokhara-Kalikasthan. (1524 m) 3-4 hrs
After breakfast, drive about 5 km to Bijaypur Army Camp. From here we star the trek. A beoad trail starts in rice fields the ascends through the village of Rakhigaun to Chutara. Then the trail climbs gently along a ridge top through few villages of Brahmins & Chhetris. The camp is on ridge top with good views of Mt. Fishtail & Annapurna.
Day 02: Kalikasthan-Syaklung (1730 m)
After the breakfast, start the trek. Today the trail continues along the forested ridge top through Thulokot to Moti Thana, where there are few tea shops. There is a short climb, then the trail reaches to Naudanda. Continue along the ridge to a school at Lipini Village. Then make a steep but short climb through forests to the Gurung Village of Syaklung. Camp for the night halt.
Day 03: Syaklung-Chisopani.
The Himalayan skyline continues to change as the route comes abreast of Annapurna II, Lamjung Himal, Manaslu & Himalchuli. From Syaklung, the trail drops dteeply down the south side of the hill to a large tree, a rest place (chautara), several tea shops and a police check post. This is a trail junction, trails lead from here west to Begnas Lake & eat to Marsyangdi River. The route climbs towards Chisopani, winding around back of the hill to the village. A short distance above Chisopani village is a high knoll where there is a small temple. This is the Chisopani ridge top, the camp here has splendid mountain views.
Day 04: Chisopani-Pokhara
From Chisopani ridge, descend along the ridge , then descend steeply on stone steps, in to a small valley. Continue for a short distance through the rice fields, then make a final ascent, to the ridge that separates Begnas Lake & Rupa Lake, on a wide path you will share with many local people. From the ridge, descend into Begnas Bazaar and to Pokhara.
